Mahlia Posey


Mahlia Posey is a video journalist originally from the sun-kissed desert of North Las Vegas, Nevada. 

She loves to make stories move. 

She’s currently based in Arlington, Virginia. Her work has appeared in The PBS Newshour, The New York Times, The New York Times Student Journalism Institute, AJ+, PBS NewsHour, NBC Nightly News, NBC BLK, NBC Asian America, the San Francisco Chronicle, Richmond Confidential, and Oakland North. 

Mahlia graduated from Howard University and U.C. Berkeley Graduate School of Journalism. She served as the president for the National Association of Black Journalist chapter and co-chair of equity and inclusion while at Berkeley.

She's received awards and recognition from The New York Times (The Armando Montaño award), The Student Academy Awards (Crew member for Gold Medalist Documentary "Hale"), A Regional Murrow Award for Excellence in Innovation and The Vimeo Staff.
